Since the plugin doesn’t support automatic upgrading of versions, what is the process so we don’t lose are current settings? It’s not detailed in readme.txt.

    HI @bvarvel,

We do have automatic updates for plugins. You need to your API key for this in plugins dashboard. Please check https://catchplugins.com/faq/how-to-update-premium-plugin/ for more info.

I’ve updated the plugin to version 1.6, and ever since – the area on my website where the feed used to show simply shows “Provide API access token / Username” despite the fact that both the API and username are set. What happened?

I’ve determined that it works fine if I’m showing the feed via username. It only errors out when I try to display posts based on a tag.

@bvarvel: I looked into the issue and Instagram seems to have removed the feature to use tags to display feeds using the widget. I will further look into this and provide you an update on this.

    Kind Regards,

Any updates on this? Without tag support, the plugin is of no use to me.

@bvarvel: Hello there, If you were using tag support for a Personal Account, the feature to make use of tags for a personal account has been removed by Instagram. You can only use Instagram tags on Business Account from now on. For that you will need to have Business Instagram Account and also a Facebook Page which needs to be connected to the Instagram account. We are working on this feature and waiting for an approval from Facebook. For more information please follow this link.

I hope this helps you out!
    Kind Regards,
    Skandha

The point of displaying posts by tag is that it would return all Instagram posts (regardless of user who posted them) that were tagged with a particular hashtag. Even if I wanted to only show posts that were tagged from my account (which is a business account and linked btw), the widget gives me the option to show by username OR tag (which doesn’t work) but not both.

The only way I see this working right now is if I setup a separate Instagram account specifically for the website (event) and have someone dedicated to making Instagram posts about the event. What I really wanted was for all our guests to be able to build the feed through the use of a hashtag.

@bvarvel: Isn’t the tag feature working on your business account?
This article should help you out.

Let me know if this helps you out!
    Kind Regards,
