Plugin Instructions

1) Installation #

a)Using the WordPress Administration Panel

You can download Plugins directly to your blog by using the Add New Plugins option in the Plugins sub-menu.
  1. Log in to the WordPress Administration Panel
  2. Go to "Plugins => Add New"
  3. Search for Essential Widgets by CatchThemes
  4. Click on "Install Now" install and then "Activate" to activate the Plugin

b)Manual Installation using FTP

To add a new Plugin to your WordPress installation, follow these basic steps:
  1. Download Essential Widgets from your Catch Themes https://catchthemes.com/plugins/essential-widgets/ page to your Desktop
  2. Unzip essential-widgets.zip to your Desktop
  3. Using an FTP client to access your host web server. Go to /wp-content/plugins/ and make sure that you do not already have a essential-widgets folder installed. If you do, then back it up and remove it from /wp-content/plugins/ before uploading your copy of Essential Widgets
  4. Upload Essential Widgets to /wp-content/plugins/
  5. Activate Essential Widgets through "Plugins", in your WordPress Dashboard

Updating Plugin Using the Administration Panel #

You can update Themes directly from the Administration Panel by simply pressing the update button in the main plugins page.

Updating Plugins Using FTP

To update Plugin though FTP, follow these basic steps:
  1. Download Essential Widgets from your Catch Themes https://catchthemes.com/plugins/essential-widgets/ page to your Desktop
  2. Unzip essential-widgets.zip to your Desktop
  3. Using an FTP client to access your host web server, go to /wp-content/plugin/ and upload your new copy of Essential Widgets Plugin which shall replace the old files

Add Widget #

You can add widgets to your widget area from two location 1. Go to "Appearance => Widgets", then drag the various widgets available from Essential Widgets plugin to the widget area or you can click in the widget then list of widget area will appear, now you can choose desired widget area and click on "Add Widget". 2. Go to "Appearance => Customize => Widgets", then you can find list of widget area. Click on the any widget area and you will see "Add a Widget" option by click on it you will find various widgets available from Essential Widgets plugin which you can add to respected widget area.

Available Widgets #

  1. EW: Archives: The Archives widget comes with various customization options. Choose a title, limit the number of posts, select the archive type, post type, order and more with the Archives widget.
  2. EW: Authors: Displaying the author’s information is kind of a must-have feature if your website has multiple authors. Our new WordPress widgets plugin allows you to add Authors widget. With this widget, you can show the list of the authors on your website, the number of posts, select feed type, and more.
  3. EW: Categories: Essential Widgets Pro supports Categories widget. The widget provides you with various customizable options such as the title of the widget, taxonomy option, order option, number of categories to show, display as a list or none, number of posts to display, sort by option, select feed type ton display and display as text or image.
  4. EW: Menus: Bored with the same default menu? Our new WordPress plugin for widgets, Essential Widgets Pro supports Menus widget. With the Menus widget filled with various customization options, you can display your menus elegantly anywhere you want on your website.
  5. EW: Pages: Display a list of pages with the Pages widget. With various customization options being provided to you, you can showcase the pages that are more important on your website wherever you want with Essential Widgets Pro.
  6. EW: Posts: Essential Widgets Pro supports Posts widget. With the widget and its customizable options, you can easily display a list of posts on your website. You can add a title, select the post type, number of items to display, order, sort by, and more.
  7. EW: Tags: And last, but definitely not the least, the Tags widget. You can display a list of tags as cloud or list, select the order of the tags, sort by option and the number of items to be displayed.
