@gnaredi : To display featured content on Homepage you will need to create a page and select the particular page from the customizer. To display featured page content.
Login to your WordPress admin section. Go to Appearance => Customize => Featured content.
Enable the section and select the pages that you would like to display as featured content and click on publish.
